Central Catholic High School
The Central Catholic High School in Reading, Pennsylvania was originally constructed as the Bon Air Mansion by William H. Luden, creator of Luden’s cough drops. In 1939, the mansion was purchased by St. Paul’s Catholic Church and converted to a parochial high school. The school prospered for over 70 years before closing in 2011. Zeller Preservation completed a determination of eligibility for the building, making it eligible for the National Register, a prerequisite for the use of tax credits.
