Campbell AME Church of Media
Campbell AME Church of Media was established in 1827 by formerly enslaved individuals. It has a long standing history in connection with local Civil Rights activities in Media, PA. It has also served as a center of religious, social and civic life for Media’s Black community throughout it’s history. As part of a Preserving Black Churches Grant administered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Zeller Preservation prepared a National Register nomination for the church. In addition, Zeller Preservation participated in the creation of a Preservation Prioritization Plan for the church, which outlined needed repairs, interior reconfigurations, and mechanical upgrades in advance of the church’s bicentennial celebration in 2027.
