George Spangler Farmstead

The George Spangler Farmstead, located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, served as a field hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. After remaining in private ownership for over 100 years, the farm was meticulous restored and today serves as a living history site. The farmstead includes a traditional Pennsylvania German two-door farmhouse, bank barn, summer kitchen, and smokehouse. Zeller Preservation provided consultation to direct restoration efforts at the farmstead, with the goal of meeting the needs of visitors while retaining the historic integrity of the buildings and landscape.
